My name is Lisa and I live in the Blue Ridge mountains along the border of southwest Virginia and northwest North Carolina. I live in a small but beautiful community known as Galax. Living near the Blue Ridge Parkway, I have the opportunity of seeing lots of scenic views and especially the wonderful color changes of the foliage in the fall season.
My interest in arts and crafts has led me to try my hand at several forms of crafting. I owe it to my mother for sending me in this direction with her wanting a decorative painted birdbath of terra cotta pots. She sparked my interest enough to locate one of Donna Dewberry's one stroke books and then to find Lisa Orlando who is now one of Donna's ELITE O.S.C.I.'s. After attending some of Lisa's classes and with her inspiration and my mother's confidence in me, I knew I had found my passion in one stroke painting.
Donna Dewberry's certification seminar was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. I felt it was an honor not only to meet her but to be taught by the master of one stroke herself. I did have a very fun time and had the opportunity to meet several of my on-line friends called the Charlotte Websters who have come to feel like my second family. I did meet several others there and feel that I have made some wonderful friendships.
Now upon being certified, I have taught classes with the one stroke technique and have enjoyed the experience of sharing this wonderful technique with others.
I love spending time with my pets, which consist of 3 dogs and 4 cats when I'm not holding a paint brush in my hand. You also might find me working with my flower gardens outside or watching nascar racing or my favorite baseball team on television. You may even find me here surfing the net!
Ok ~ that's about all I can say for me! I hope I have inspired you in some way to pick up a paint brush and try the one stroke technique yourself. I do find it very relaxing as well as a stress reliever at times, but once you see that you can beautify your surroundings you will love one stroke painting as I do. I think one thing that says it all
~~ One Stroke painting -- a gift of God and Donna Dewberry
that brings joy to my life through my own hands!~~
